Project Desal is an initiative by IdeaSet, a non-profit company dedicated to developing technologies for a safer, better, and more sustainable world.

Project Desal is committed to solving two of humanity’s most pressing challenges: clean water scarcity and renewable energy production. Our system purifies seawater using solar concentration and high-efficiency turbine technology, producing fresh water and clean electricity—all powered by renewable energy sources.

Designed for scalability and adaptability, Project Desal can operate on a range of sustainable power sources including solar, wind, tidal, and nuclear. This flexibility makes it ideal for deployment in diverse climates and geographies across the globe.

But we don’t stop at water and energy.

Unlike conventional desalination methods, Project Desal eliminates harmful brine discharge. Instead, we convert the leftover salt and minerals into commercial products for industries such as battery manufacturing and agriculture. This zero-waste, closed-loop system minimizes environmental impact while generating multiple revenue streams—proving that sustainability and economic viability can go hand in hand.

Currently in testing, Project Desal is already showing promising results, including the ability to irrigate crops in arid regions—a powerful step toward food and water security in vulnerable communities.
